Primary Grade 1-5
At NPS-HRD, assessment in the Primary Years is a continuous and comprehensive process that focuses on understanding, application, and overall growth. The academic year is divided into two terms, with students being assessed through a variety of methods such as classwork, assignments, projects, worksheets, oral presentations, collaborative activities, and monthly reviews.
Monthly reviews are conducted on small portions covered during the month to assess conceptual understanding, retention, and learning progress.
These regular assessments enable teachers to identify strengths, provide timely support, and ensure that students are well-prepared for the next stage of learning.
Clear guidelines and expectations are shared with students before every assessment, including structured and organised Revision Reviews.
Through continuous assessment, NPS encourages consistent learning, reduces examination stress, and nurtures confident, independent, and reflective learners.
